In Masterpieces By Kim & Björn: An Italian Dream, Kim Bucholdt and Björn Kroner created a dreamy cloud creation full of Italian flowers.
For the paper clouds, 60 meters of paper is used. Kim and Björn use 30-gram drawing paper to create a light, almost weightless effect.
Want to try this technique yourself? Follow the steps below:
Tear the drawing paper into different pieces.
Cut about five strands of different lengths from each sheet.
Fix the paper with spray glue.
Attach several layers together for strength.
Tear the paper into the desired flower shape.
Connect the elements with thin aluminum wire.
Bend the whole thing into a flower shape.
Repeat this process until you have several large flowers.
Attach the flowers to a structure in the air for a floating effect.
To enhance the cloud effect, Kim and Björn spray the paper flowers with a combination of spray paint and water. By working from light to dark, more depth, texture, and drama are created.

To truly convey the La Dolce Vita feeling, Kim and Björn use colorful flowers from Italy, such as poppies, anemones, and ranunculus.
The poppy is a special flower. The poppy petals are paper-thin and lightly crinkled, giving it a crepe paper-like appearance. This gives the creation a light, poetic look and a touchable texture.
The anemone has a refined appearance, reminiscent of satin. The anemone is firmer and has more straight lines, which is a good contrast to the whimsical poppy. The anemone brings focus and rhythm.
The ranunculus is layered, full, yet soft. The flower provides the connection between the other flowers and brings stability.
