Wednesday 05 November 2025
Here you’ll find not only inspiration but also the most beautiful Christmas greens to purchase: grown without chemicals, with a focus on balance and pure craftsmanship. Click here for the assortment.
In this lookbook edition, we celebrate a return to what truly matters: the scent of fresh evergreens, the calm of repetition, the strength of simplicity. Whether you’re making a wreath for the front door or a centerpiece for the family dinner, Christmas is the season of meaningful gestures.
In the heart of the Netherlands, nursery Andromeda grows its unique conifers and greenery entirely without chemicals. Everything revolves around balance: between people and nature, tradition and innovation.
Master florist Anja Schneider worked with Andromeda’s assortment to create a hand-tied wreath and a natural buffet arrangement, perfectly fitting the rhythm of the festive season. A beautiful example of how rituals take shape with the right materials.

Christmas greens as a base or as an ornament. How do you use them?

The power of red
Master florist Jenny Ingrum gives the color red, powerful, timeless, and emotional, a modern interpretation. Her design for a hanging Christmas installation revolves around movement and balance, offering a fresh perspective on classic materials.
Jenny begins with a structure made of chicken wire and binding wire. This foundation serves as the backbone, providing both strength and lightness. She deliberately chooses a hanging form, giving flowers a sense of freedom while drawing the eye upward. Ilex berries form the base, adding volume and structure, while inverted amaryllis stems not only create surprising lines but also act as natural water tubes a clever technical detail.
By layering flowers such as hydrangea, ranunculus, lisianthus, helleborus, and vanda orchids, Jenny creates depth. The rich color gradient from burgundy to coral further enhances the effect. The result: a contemporary ode to red, bringing strength and warmth to any winter interior.

Jenny: “Water is weight.” Especially important in a hanging installation.

Hanneke’s autumn choice
From idea to Masterpiece
Everything starts with an idea. Hanneke Frankema: ‘’Inspiration can be found everywhere: during a walk in the forest, in a beautiful interior, or simply in the shape of a branch. For florists, the art lies in keeping your eyes open and transforming impressions into floral designs that surprise and move.’’
A powerful foundation is working with a frame. Think of Jugendstil-inspired fan shapes: elegant, symmetrical, yet versatile. Such a base can be used season after season—warm shades in autumn, French tulips in spring, or lush summer field flowers.
Practical tips from Hanneke:
Give flowers space. Expressive varieties like Gloriosa or Clematis need room to show their true form.
Focus on details. A pin at the stem or a wire wrapping adds a refined finishing touch.
Use tubes. Perfect for incorporating short flowers or plant leftovers. They add depth while preventing waste.
Dare to integrate plants. An orchid or Guzmania in a bouquet creates a surprising highlight.
With an eye for detail and smart techniques, every design becomes more than a creation—it becomes a story.

A magical wedding
Masterpieces of Floral Enchantment
As a florist, you are the silent force behind the fairy tale. You conjure magic with colors, scents, and shapes, turning every ceremony into an enchanting experience. But how do you create that ethereal atmosphere couples will remember forever?
Play with light and dark to create depth. Combine rich, dark tones such as burgundy, aubergine, or midnight blue with powdery pastels or soft ivory accents. Think of black callas next to blush roses, or deep green foliage paired with elegant lisianthus. These contrasts create both tension and elegance.
A hint of jasmine, the soft scent of freesia, or a whisper of lavender. Scents evoke memories, choose them wisely: subtle, never overpowering. This keeps the floral experience intimate and refined.
Consider the moment you deliver your creations. Wrap them with care. Add a personal note. Use ribbons, tissue paper, or a scented sachet. These thoughtful touches add to the magic. It's the small, intentional gestures that let your craftsmanship shine.
